All dressed up with nowhere to go

I love making dresses and blouses and skirts galore! I like making functional things that I actually wear. But I also would love to make frilly things. Lacy things. Party dresses like when I was a kid – with flouncing skirts, puffed up sleeves and over the top collars.  But where would I go?

I have lots of nice things I’ve made for myself over the last few years but through for most of that time, I was working full time in a casual office environment and my clothes reflect that. My dresses and skirts are a tad on the proper side. My blouses a wee bit smart. Clothes that I don’t just throw on now when i get up in the morning, pretending to be a housewife. And that makes me sad. Because i love those dresses and skirts and for some reason if I went ahead and made myself an outfit to match my slouching about lifestyle at the moment, I feel like that would be giving up home for breaking out of unemployment. But it’s ok, cause i know I’ll get to wear them again soon. Maybe I’ll even put on a nice little dress to go get my pint of milk.

What I need is a regular themed party to go to! I’d love to sew some 1940s outfits to go the the Blitz Party or a gown and mask for a Masquerade. See i just love dressing up and have a gazillion ideas. But alas, I’m all dressed up with nowhere to go.
