Being gifted patterns

Have been thoroughly enjoying myself, trundling around the UK visiting friends, rowing a skiff down the tames, going to weddings and buying fabric. Hence my radio silence.  While making my rounds I was given to two new (to me) patterns!

My best friend gave me Vogue V1219:

ImageWhich I am quite excited about – I love the neckline and front. But I am considering ditching the skirt and just making it into a blouse.  I’ll let you know how that goes!

Then from another friend I got a Vogue Courtier Design 1153 by Jean Muir:

What fun! Again I am thinking of tinkering with it a little – taking of the arms and making it knee lengths. We’ll see how I get on!

But either way its so lovely being given patterns. I’m a sucker for free things, but I also love it when people think of me and sewing – what ever I make I then is always associated with that person.

I’m off on another camping holiday tomorrow but then it’ll be back to my ta-da list starting with a lightweight liberty print shirt for G.
