Knitting Diaries – Not the sleeves

15 Feb

On Saturday morning I finished the number repeated rows I needed to do before dividing the sleeves from the body. In anticipation of starting my sleeves, I had invited Excellent E. over for coffee and a tutorial.

Turns out I wasn’t about to start the sleeves, just put the sleeve sts on a holder (or in my case a thick piece of yarn), cast on a few sts and then carry on knitting. Bit of an anti climax don’t you think?

Now I just keep on knitting until I reach my desired length. Except that despite having counted my stitches  and had the correct number, I am now short 3 (I recounted this 3 times and all times ended up at 167 instead of the desired 170). So no more knitting for the weekend and Ican’t quite figure out how to just ‘make a stitch’ without M1L/M1R ie creating a gap…

Still I’m progressing and it’s starting to take shape (even if it does look a little squiffy in the photo)!
