Me Made May 2015

I’m pretty excited to have just signed up to Me Made May 2015. Here’s my solemn pledge (it’s almost like Brownies again):

‘I, Rosemary of Thimble & Threads , sign up as a participant of Me-Made-May ’15. I endeavor to wear at least one me-made each day until 22 May 2015’

It’s a little bit of a cop out as I am only going to do the challenge until 22 May but that’s because I’m going to the Scottish Highlands to go hiking for a week and my ‘me-made’ have not yet expanded to a trekking collection.

While I wear me-made clothes fairly often, I perhaps should have said ‘ I endeavor to wear at least one, ironed me-made item per day’. See quite a few of my tops really do need ironing and I just never bother to do this, so they often go unworn.

This is going to be the challenging part – I really want to see what I like wearing and feel comfortable in. I’m aware that sometimes I make things that I love the fabric, I love the pattern, I love the finished product – but not on me. And so they sit in my closet or drawers unloved. So I’m hoping to work my way through all my creations and the things that I’m not comfortable/feel great/ love wearing I’m – deep breath- going to give away.

There’s no point holding onto them if I wont wear them or unless I’m planning on upcycling them. So in June (when I am back from my holiday) I’m going to go through everything I wore and make that hard decision.

I’m planning to document my outfits here – either on a daily or weekly (most likely) basis, so keep your eyes peeled.

Are you participating in Me-Made-May? What’s your challenge to yourself?
