Week 3 – Me Made May

22 May

I noticed this week that I gravitate towards certain garments. But I guess its like that with all clothese (me-made or store bought) – you have your favourites and its hard to remember to try other things occasionally. I have noticed this week however that there are several me-made items in my closet that I really truly don’t wear and trying them on,  I realised its because they don’t fit, or I just don’t like them. So I think at the end of the month I’ll be having a bit of a clear out.

Monday: Laurel from Colette (version 1)

This has become one of my favorite patterns – I now have four (although I don’t like one). This particular dress gets a lot of wear in the winter as I made it with interlining so its perfect for wearing over thick tights and adds some color to dreary winter days. It was the first Laurel I made and its a size or two big, normally I wear it with a belt to cinch the waist or with a cardigan.

Tuesday: Violet from Colette (version 1)

I love this Liberty print (and I get alot of compliments on the fabric every time I wear it) – I knew the moment I saw it that it needed to be a cute little blouse and this  top never fails to make me happy when I put it on. I particularly love the buttons.  It hasn’t been worn for a while because i needed to mend a small hole in the armpit. But thanks to spending last Saturday mending, it was all ready to wear today (plus it was nicely ironed).

Wednesday: Anna Tunic from Amy Butler and Ginger jeans (again)

I really love this print and the top but it’s a touch tight  across the bust and under the armpits.

Thursday: McCalls 6124

The temperature dropped a bit today so I’m back in one of my favorite flannel shirts. I absolutely love McCalls 5124. Its one of the first shirt patterns I got as an adult and I’ve been making it for years now. I particularly love this version (note its actually the same fabric as my BFF’s Xmas PJs).

Friday: Simplicity 2363 (again)

On Friday I had to go to Geneva for work and I was really nervous about my meetings. And oc course had to spend ages trying on multiple outfits – I regularly wear MMM outfits to work meetings, as I feal more confident wearing something I made. But I really wanted to be comfortalbe yet proffesional. In the end I pulled out Simplicity 2363 again.

Saturday & Sunday: Carolyn Pajamas

I got pretty sick this weekend and haven’t gotten out of bed till now. So it’s bneen my Carolyn Pajamas all the way.
